The Nigeria
Football Federation(NFF) is confident that the homebased Eagles will excel at
the forthcoming African Nations Championship(CHAN).
Nigeria will
be making its appearance at the CHAN tournament having missed out on the first
two editions,but NFF's Director of competitions Sanusi Mohammed is optimistic
that the team will make an impact in South Africa.
“Being there
for the first time does not matter, because, Nigeria is going there to lift the
trophy,” Mohammed was quoted as saying on Vanguard Sports.
“We are
going there to fight and make sure that we do the country proud,” he added.
The NFF
scribe however added that the team will not miss the duo of Sunday Mba and
Godfrey Oboabona,who have since moved abroad to join foreign clubs.
