Sarri blames mental confusion for Leicester defeat

Maurizio Sarri has said “mental confusion” affected his Chelsea players as Leicester City inflicted a first home defeat of the season on the Blues.

Jamie Vardy applied a clinical finish to a lightning counter-attack to run out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge, with Eden Hazard striking the crossbar in the first half and Marcos Alonso clipping the inside of the post in the final minutes.

France and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe ranks Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as the best player he has faced in 2018.

Mbappe won the inaugural Trophee Kopa for the best under-21 player in the world on Monday, while he also finished fourth in the running for the Ballon d'Or after his exploits for PSG and World Cup-winners France.

It was at that tournament in Russia where Mbappe came up against Hazard, as France defeated Belgium 1-0 in the semi-finals.

Mbappe was particularly impressed with Hazard's sheer pace, while he also commended him for not playing with an ego, always appearing willing to pass the ball to a team-mate.

Nigerian striker Ikechukwu Uche has announced an agreement to play for Mexican club Tigres UANL.

Uche, 31, announced via his official Twitter account that he had reached an agreement to play with the Liga MX side.

Nigeria not superior, Senegal coach insists

Senegal U-20 national team coach, Joseph Koto, has said the Nigeria U-20 team were not superior to his team despite losing twice to the Flying Eagles at the 2015 African Youth Championship which was concluded in Dakar on Sunday.

The Flying Eagles beat the Junior Teranga Lions 1-0 in the AYC final at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium to win their seventh African title, but Koto believed his team also played well to deserve victory.

“I am very satisfied with the performance of my team. They played very well and were exceptional because from the start till the end, our presence was felt,” Koto said on CAF website.

Keshi officially accepts offer to stay on as coach of Nigeria

Stephen Keshi has reportedly sent an official reply to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirming his decision to continue as the coach of the Super Eagles.

According to AfricanFootball, an assistant coach submitted Keshi’s notice of acceptance at the NFF office in Abuja.

Keshi’s previous contract ended following the African champions’ elimination from the 2014 World Cup and the Big Boss, who has been in charge of Nigeria for three years, was heavily linked with the South Africa job.

  The former Mali coach, has reportedly asked the NFF to provide him with an official residence and car, as part of his new deal, while he has also told top officials that he wants to be paid on time.
