Football Governing body, FIFA have selected Super Eagles's winning goal by
Sunday Mba at the final of AFCON 2013 as one of the 13 moments that defined
2013.
FIFA
disclosed on their website that the goal was one of the unforgettable and
memorable moments of 2013.
The football
body described Mba's goal as worthy of winning any match, adding that the
winning strike brought joy and relief to an entire nation.
Nigeria
which last won the title in 1994 overcame the best efforts of debutant
finalists Burkina Faso, Mba’s precise volley – after flicking the ball over his
opponent’s head – proved sufficient to secure the African crown.
